Andrew King has been President, since 2018, following 3 years on the Board, including
Treasurer. Initially joining as an on-water volunteer, the Winds of Change program
showed the value that MWF can bring to those looking for a better way to engage with
the community which led to a desire to do more for the Foundation.
Andrew has extensive business experience in a broad range of manufacturing and
distribution businesses. He places a high priority on communications and has a passion
for brands and organisation performance.
He is currently an Executive coach with Foresight’s Global Coaching, chaired the NSW
Manufacturing Task Force in 2012 and was a Member of Council and Honorary
Treasurer at Shore School for over 15 years. He has had the privilege of leading
businesses with great brands, including Victa and Rheem.
Andrew also brings a broad knowledge of the management of risk and an ability to
analyse complex situations, which is helpful for the Making Waves Foundation.
The opportunity to utilise sailing as a means to engage with young people experiencing
it for the first time and discovering what they can do on the water, adds another
dimension to one’s personal sailing skills.
