Well, what a busy and rewarding 6 months it’s been since Wendy joined Making Waves!
Wendy has been out and about, meeting and training volunteers, as well as skippering Winds of Joy and racing programmes – which she loves. Whilst based in Sydney most of the time, these activities have also taken her onto the waterways of our ports in Newcastle and Melbourne.
As plans for launching MWF programs out of Geelong Cruising Yacht Club continue to gain momentum, Making Waves partnered with the 2022 Geelong Wooden Boat Festival.
We're on the lookout for the next team member to join our fun office in Rushcutters Bay.
If you have an engaging personality, excellent office skills, some IT skills, and think you can do this job better than anyone else, then this could be the job for you!
Term 1, 2022 started with the promise of resuming regular Sydney programs and the commencement of Newcastle programs. Both volunteers and clients were eager to book sails across all programs. No sooner was the calendar live online, than it was fully subscribed!
Melbourne volunteers truly enjoyed taking students on the water again after a whopping 259 days break! Sailing from our base in Docklands, and then out along the Yarra, the kids were once more on the lookout for swashbucklers aboard the ‘pirate ship’ and getting dizzy doing ‘donuts’ on the Bay.
MWF supporters are invited the official launch of Newcastle programs at the Newcastle Cruising Yacht Club on Thursday 2nd December, 2021 from 2pm.
We're excited to get programs underway across the Hunter region, and hope you can join the celebrations with the local community and partners.
