Our Yachts

Wot Eva

Thanks to a generous donation by wotif.com co-founder Graeme Wood, we were gifted a high performance Nelson Marek designed TP52 yacht. The Making Waves Foundation team can now race in the IRC division, including the Sydney to Hobart yacht race..

Kayle

Our principle program delivery boat is a purpose built for disabled people 52ft Lyons grand prix offshore racing yacht. Kayle was designed and built in 2000 to be ergonomically sensitive to the needs of the disabled, yet in every sense of the word to be an ocean racer.

Mercator

At the heart of our Wright of Passage Program is Mercator. A donated 1974 Herreshoff Ketch, in need of repair. Participants in the Wright of Passage program are working to restore Mercator to her former glory and then sail her to Hobart for the 2019 Wooden Boat Festival.

Ninety Seven

Ninety Seven is one of Australia’s leading ocean racing yachts. It has been specially modified to be accessible for a wide range of disabilities. Raised guard rails, wheelchair restrains, and redesign of the cockpit, have made it a safe and inclusive vessel.

You're Hired

Thanks to a generous donation by Geoff Morgan and Andrew Banks, we were gifted a yacht, a Davidson 59. Designed by NZ America's Cup designer, Laurie Davidson and built in Australia 'You're Hired" has had many racing victories.

Yacht Tracker

When we are undertaking a open ocean voyage, or sometimes when competing in a race like the Sydney to Hobart, we enable the onboard yacht tracker. You can follow our progress in real time with the live Making Waves Foundation yacht tracker.
