Melbourne volunteers truly enjoyed taking students on the water again after a whopping 259 days break! Sailing from our base in Docklands, and then out along the Yarra, the kids were once more on the lookout for swashbucklers aboard the ‘pirate ship’ and getting dizzy doing ‘donuts’ on the Bay.
Man overboard training held in Docklands Bay on the volunteers’ first two days back created quite the spectacle. The sight of a life-sized dummy repeatedly being thrown into the water, followed by the yacht motoring in circles surely puzzled many in the overlooking apartments! Melbourne skippers Jeff Casley and Noel May welcomed Wendy Tuck for the exercises.
