Want to Volunteer for our 2014 Northern Campaign?northern campaign sailors with disabilities

Making Waves Foundation charity boat faceboat heads North each winter to allow even more kids with disability and disadvantaged people to enjoy the freedom and adventure of sailing through Try Sail

For some, this sailing opportunity offers the thrill of a lifetime. For others, it is the beginning of a new chapter of change.

faceboat is crewed by volunteers.

Join our Northern campaign as a volunteer and you will:

  • Explore Australia's fabulous Eastern Coastline at the best time of year.

  • Meet like-minded people with a passion for sailing and creating change.

  • Assist with our Winds of Joy program.

  • Rack up sea miles and gain sailing and boating experience.

  • Enjoy fabulous sunsets and sunrises, dolphin and whale watching, the chance to swim and walk... and relax with the odd gin and tonic.

This year's trip from Sydney to Mackay and back, runs over an eight week period, from July to September.

Along the way, we stop at Southport, Bundaberg, Rosslyn Bay, Mackay, Gladstone and Newcastle. Deliveries between ports vary from one to three days - see below.northern campaign sailors with disabilities

At each port we take groups of children on Winds of Joy - one group in the morning and another in the afternoon - approx 2 hours each.

Rest days allow you to explore the surrounding areas and do boat maintenance work.
